Susannah Smith

Susannah Smith is a freelance writer, curator and arts guide, based in Sydney. She studied Art History and Theory at the University of Sydney and completed an MA History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. She is currently curating an exhibition of encaustic painting and sculpture by the Costa Rican Australian artist Randal Arvilla, entitled Encáustica Contemporánea, which will run from October 25 – November 6 at Gauge Gallery. Susannah leads monthly art tours around Sydney’s flourishing Chippendale arts precinct, interviewing artists and presenting exhibitions. She has written exhibition texts for Home@735, Interlude Gallery and Stanley Street Gallery, and her arts writing has been published in the Journal of Australian Ceramics, Look Magazine, Curium, Courtauld Critics and The Courtauldian.
