Writing Backwards

Runway Journal is thrilled to show four commissioned digital works from Issue 46: GHOST in the upcoming group exhibition Writing Backwards at SCA Gallery, opening 9 August 👻🪞

Featuring contributors Toyah Webb, Nicole Smede, Melinda Reid and Yoona, these works explore romance phantoms, cyborgian technocultures, grief and spectre memories. 🌹🎤

Writing Backwards presents four Sydney-based independent publishers whose work emerges from artmaking and considers their process. Bringing these distinct publishers into SCA gallery, the show reverses the typical art-publishing paradigm by which existing published works are recontextualised.

Curated by Emma O’Neill and Alex Gawronski, Writing Backwards will highlight the commissioning and art-making process of four Sydney-based independent publishers Runway Journal, Hag Mag, Pebble Press and Stolon Press.
