Join Runway Journal as a digital coordinator
Runway Journal is one of Australia’s longest running artist-run-initatives. We champion and platform experimental digital practice and critical writing. In 2023, we embarked on a digital transformation project, and we are now ready to expand and evolve our operations to ensure the long-term sustainability and viability of the organisation.
We are seeking a digital coordinator to join the team to manage the day-day operations of Runway Journal. This role will report to the board of directors, and be the main point of contact for partners, contributing artists and writers, board members and funding bodies. We are looking for someone with experience and interest in digital experimental arts practice, with a strategic approach to the management of small arts organisations.
The role operates remotely, and we are looking for someone to join the team on a part-time basis for three months.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the day-day operations of Runway Journal, including communications, finance, website and marketing;
2. Administration of artist contracts, payments, timeline and deliverables;
3. Manage board meetings, assessment and selection meetings;
4. Manage the social media strategy and day-day content development and delivery in line with the digital strategy of Runway Journal;
5. Manage the upload and maintenance of digital artwork and writing commissions to our digital platform;
6. Support the development of funding applications and reporting requirements;
7. Work collaboratively with Board members to ensure the organisation delivers on the proposed strategic objectives and projects.
Essential Criteria
1. Experience and interest in digital practice, emerging and experimental art and critical writing
2. Experience in managing budgets, finance and accounting
3. Experience in social media
4. Experience in publishing and managing online content
5. Excellent organisational and administration skills
Time Commitment
This role is 10 hours/week for a three-month period. The role operates remotely, and the digital coordinator will be required to join regular board meetings and events.
Payment
This role is paid at $40/hour + super. You will be paid via an ABN as a contractor.
