An animated portrait of my Mother, which focuses on her journey from Malta to Australia in the 40’s. It is deeply personal and yet broadly reflective of the Australian experience.
Danny Stanley is an artist living and working in regional Australia. He uses a solid foundation of drawing skills and academic training as the basis for his work, which includes murals, comic books, editorial illustration, storyboarding, animation and teaching. With a passion for visual storytelling and bold, visually engaging work, he has found success as a commercial illustrator. Danny has been fortunate to be work with companies pushing technological boundaries and creating objects and experiences that are of great worth to the wider community, such as Illuminart, Kahpi, Keo Design and many others.
This particular work represents a shift to more personally directed work, which is welcome after extensive collaboration with the aforementioned companies and organisations. Danny is firmly rooted in his community of Tamworth and the wider New England area. He teaches regular art classes to children and adults, and contributes public art to streets and cafes.
Examples of his work can be found at www.dannystanleyart.com and his Instagram @avongarde. He is always interested in discussing new projects and opportunities, and is known to get excited pretty easily.
