In response to Snow Canon (Mati Diop, 2011)
Carla Uriarte’s sporadic nature has caused her to cross paths with many sides of herself. The in depth voyage inwards allows the artist to express all that exists within. She runs and hosts a monthly reading at Freda’s ‘Down Under’ titled ‘Cafe del Mwah.’ She is currently working on a book titled ‘The most boring story that I could write’ and is in the midst of releasing a colouring book titled ‘A Colouring Book That Will Transform Yo Mind & Soul.’ Carla was born in the Philippines, grew up in San Francisco become a woman in Spain and now resides under Sydney’s Australian sun. for more info find her at carlauriarte.com or check out some photos of her art and face @cacarrracha.
