Lauren Carroll Harris

Lauren Carroll Harris is a writer and artist in Sydney. Her monograph ‘Not at a Cinema Near You: Australia’s Film Distribution Problem’ is available through Currency Press’ Platform Papers series, and her film and arts reviews are published in Real Time Arts, Time Out Sydney and such online magazines as Junkee. She has been published by the Sydney Morning Herald, Screen Hub and Co-Respond and has worked with Underbelly Arts Festival and National Young Writers Festival. On Sydney’s leading independent radio station, FBi 94.5, she is a regular contributor to The Picture Show, and previously produced documentaries for the award-winning programme All The Best. Her first solo show, The Free Market, was at Kudos Gallery, where Lauren interned in 2011. Aside from her three solo shows in Melbourne and Sydney, she is a co-director of Archive Space, an ARI and digital publishing project. Lauren is currently working on a PhD on film distribution and Australian cinema at UNSW.
