Kate Britton

Kate Britton is a Sydney-based writer and curator. Her current curatorial concerns are centralised around queer theory and practice, and the dialogue between writing, text and contemporary art. She currently works at Campbelltown Arts Centre, and from 2014-15 was a Director at Firstdraft Gallery. In the last few years she has worked with Underbelly Arts, Kaldor Public Art Projects, This is Not Art festival, and FBi Radio. Her past life was in university research, the hangover of which is a very recently submitted PhD around community filmmaking in Papua New Guinea. Her writing has appeared in Sturgeon, Art Monthly, Art Collector, Runway Experimental Australian Art, Das Superpaper, Raven Contemporary, Time Out, Archive Space Writer’s Program, and numerous other publications. She recently curated PASSING / PARADES at Success Gallery (WA) as part of an ongoing project, Queer Spritz, co-facilitated by Frances Barrett..
