Frances Barrett is a curator and artist currently based on Gadigal land, Sydney. Her interests in live art forms and collaborative processes inform both her curatorial and artistic practice. Recent roles include: Co-Director of art collective Barbara Cleveland (since 2007); Campbelltown Arts Centre Curator Contemporary Performance (2014-2017); Canvas FBi Radio host (2014-2015); Firstdraft Gallery and Studio Manager (2011-2013); and Co-Director of Serial Space (2009-2013). Barbara Cleveland’s projects have recently been presented by Art Gallery of NSW, 20th Biennale of Sydney, 2018 Adelaide Biennale of Australian Art, Museum of Contemporary Art and Monash University Museum of Art. Frances’ curatorial projects include; All Ears: A listening party, Campbelltown Art Centre (2018); Into My Arms, Ace Open (2018); Haunting, Firstdraft (2015); FM[X]: What Does a Feminist Methodology Sound Like?, Liquid Architecture (2016); and Time Machine: A Festival of Experimental Time-Based Art, Serial Space (2012). She is currently a PhD Candidate at Monash University.
